| just some wise words: "man being manifestation or expression of God has a limitless destiny before him. his work is to express, in concrete, definite form, the abstract ideas with which God furnishes him, and in order to do this, he must have creative power. if he did not have creative power he would merely be a machine through which God worked- an automaton. but man is not an automaton; he is an individualized consciousness. God individualizes himself in an infinite number of distinct focal points of consciousness, each one quite different; and therefore each one is a distinct way of knowing the universe, each a distinct experience." -emmet fox i love art. do you like my new background photo? i took that picture with my BRAND NEW camera.... im tickled pink! | | |

| i am in columbus, OH for a few days visiting my cousin steve. i know that i have mentioned him on here before, and some of you know the story... anyway, old boy just had brain surgery on wed. august 9th to remove his second tumor. the surgery was a relative success, they removed an estimated 99% of the cancer without causing permanent nerve damage. pancakes. steve is in good spirits and is already exercising his dirty-old-man capabilities as he hits on ALL the nurses. it really is a beautiful thing.

| dalton, justin, and i took a vacation. we visited the grand tetons. summitted the middle one, nearly died by way of glacier. marmetts ate our summer sausage. visited yellowstone... did not see caleb platt, did see alan snyder. did see a thousand and one mosquitoes.... eight of which bit me on my right hand. swam in a natural thermal river. finished reading "mutant message down under" by marlo morgan. recieved some questionable pictures in an email from becky hawn. maybe coming home early for cousin steve's surgery. most definitely feeling overwhelmed with decisions. trusting in God. remembering that discontent and pain are the best catalysts for change.... loving every second of this life.
this week was the first time i have ever allowed myself to hike slow enough that i could sing praise songs during the hike.... i was so happy. i usually have a problem with thinking that i have to prove myself in some way by hiking fast to keep up with the boys.... screw those boys, God and i had a great time with out them. plus, they waited up for me a lot... whoever says chivalry is dead, i will personally punch them in the face and pee all over them.
back in the field tomorrow. i love my job! | | |
